About Neil Cartwright
I am a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist, primarily using Transactional Analysis (TA) alongside complementary approaches, including mindfulness, where necessary.
TA is a model that, in its simplest form, examines patterns of thought, feeling, and behaviour through three ‘ego states’, Parent, Adult and Child, helping clients recognise unhelpful patterns and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. Mindfulness complements this by supporting clients to stay present, rather than becoming caught up in past difficulties or future anxieties.
Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I work for NHS England in the ‘Greener NHS’ team for the North East and Yorkshire, focusing on environmental sustainability in the health service. I am also a voluntary director of the local environmental social enterprise ‘All Things Good and Nice,’ which connects people with nature to support wellbeing.
Being a part of the remarkable team at Cudox, I have the privilege of providing psychotherapy support to adults in our community who may be experiencing difficulties.
I am the proud owner of a Boston Terrier called Derek, to whom I am devoted in spite of his snoring and toxic emissions.
