About Kailey Stringer

I am a Trainee Psychotherapist in my 4th and final year of training and registered with the UKCP.

My primary modality for working with clients is based on the theory of Transactional Analysis which helps provide a foundation for understanding our current thought processes and behavioural patterns based on some of our earliest childhood experiences.

The increased awareness and deeper understanding of some of the ‘Why’s’ of what’s happening for us on that deeper level can be empowering and I will work with you to consider with curiosity and self-compassion what may be happening for you with the aim of validating your experience and working towards strengthened autonomy to affect desirable changes.

I work in an integrative style which means incorporating other complimentary therapeutic approaches where appropriate. This can sometimes involve creativity and permission to invite your inner child to play freely or the inclusion of a transitional object to use in grounding techniques.

The Therapeutic relationship between you and I is intended to provide a safe confidential space for you to bring whatever you need to without judgement, bias or prejudice and you will be heard, held with care & kindness and your authentic self, accepted and nurtured.

Our work will be collaborative, and I’ll be guided by you in terms of pace, you will be treated with respect, empathy and equity considering the unique individual that you are and may have lost connection with. One of my aims during our work will be to help you to reflect and nurture your authentic self-back to the surface to a position of autonomy, clarity and personal growth.

As with physical ailments and illness, no-one is exempt from experiencing ill mental health and this can often be for complexed reasons that leave a person feeling vulnerable, overwhelmed and lost. I’m here to offer to you with honesty, belief and warmth that all these feelings are valid and despite what the unhelpful and intrusive thoughts tell you that ‘this too shall pass!’

My knowledge, patience and empathy around what it takes to survive some of life’s most seemingly insurmountable challenges comes not only from reading the textbooks but is also backed by my own lived experiences and a deep understanding of the courage, strength and sheer determination it can take to move from surviving to thriving again. I really believe this to be possible for you too.

We are each on our very own unique journey and I hope that with me by your side, it will feel slightly less daunting. You are not alone.
