Child & Young Person's Psychotherapist
About Rebecca Archer
I am a children and young people’s therapist, delivering both one to one and group therapy at the Cudox base, in schools and sometimes alongside community organisations. I am qualified to post-graduate level and experienced in work with adults, children and adolescents.
Â
Alongside my role as a therapist, I also have the role of Community Mental Health Coordinator for Children and Young People. This involves managing the services we provide to this group, liaising with schools and managing the referrals that we take… so it is me you will probably make first contact with if referring a young person!
Â
I work from an integrative approach, meaning I am trained to merge different types of therapy. I place focus on the quality of the relationship between myself and my clients; believing that understanding, trust and acceptance are vital components in therapy.
Â
I am passionate about my work and strongly believe that working therapeutically at an early stage, when issues first become apparent, can help to prevent further difficulties in a young person’s future. I work with young people bringing a wide range of diverse issues, to overcome their difficulties within a safe and secure therapeutic relationship, in a way which they can understand – and most importantly, feel understood.
Â
Outside of work I am a busy Mum. However, in my spare time you will catch me on water or sand, usually on a paddleboard! I have a sneaky obsession with all things ocean, especially sharks!
