Technical Absorbents Provides Ongoing Vital Support to Local Community Interest Company
To mark its 30th anniversary in 2023, Technical Absorbents (TAL) wanted to select a local company to provide monetary support as part of its celebrations. After lengthy consideration, and an eye-opening conversation with the organisation’s enthusiastic Managing Director, Angie Graham they opted for local community interest company Cudox Wellbeing CIC.
Based in Grimsby, Cudox Wellbeing CIC is a provider of high-quality, accessible counselling and psychotherapy for both adults and children. Its mission is to ensure that anyone who has a need for therapy can access it regardless of their situation in life.
“Both TAL and Cudox share a deep-seated belief in the importance of prioritising mental health and wellbeing, not only within the workplace but also within the wider community,” explains TAL’s General Manager Mike Parkington, “so, we thought this would be a perfect fit.”
“We recognise that supporting mental health is crucial for individuals to lead fulfilling and productive lives. Supporting Cudox in this way will allow them to continue to create a positive and supportive environment that fosters both emotional resilience and mental wellness.”
TAL’s funding of Cudox has continued into 2024, with a further sum donated in quarter one to help further enhance its service provision. To show their appreciation for this ongoing support, the team at Cudox offered to run a Creative Therapy session at TAL for any employees that wished to take part. This unique way of bringing the team together to use creativity as a channel to express emotion, reduce stress, improve cognitive function, build resilience, connect socially, process trauma, boost self-esteem and promote mindfulness, was well received by all and something TAL will look to hold again in the future.
“Cudox were thrilled to facilitate conversations and activities around creative therapy with the TAL team and promote discussions that they may not ordinarily have with each other,” says Managing Director Angie Graham. “Often people shy away from creative therapy as they think they’re not good at art but it’s not about that. It’s an opportunity for individuals to express and process their emotions. This can be particularly beneficial for those who find it difficult to articulate their feelings through words. It can be a fun and enjoyable activity, providing a sense of joy and playfulness that might be missing in everyday life.
“Cudox has been making a significant impact in the lives of individuals by providing much-needed mental health support and counselling services. Regardless of financial status, Cudox ensures that those in need can access their services when they need them the most. Their remarkable work is made possible through charitable donations, grants, and funding from compassionate organisations like Technical Absorbents.”
