We are seeking a qualified and compassionate child therapist to join our not-for-profit counselling service in Grimsby. We are a team of passionate, caring and reflective practitioners who provide person-centred/integrative therapeutic support to adults, children, couples and families.
Responsibilities:
– Offer individual therapy sessions to children and young people to address their mental health concerns at our therapy centre, within schools and online
– Provide creative interventions and play therapy to support the client’s progress
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
– Collaborate with other healthcare/education professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
– Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of psychotherapy
– Registered member of BACP or equivalent – adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in all aspects of practice
Experience:
– Minimum diploma in Psychotherapy or Counselling
– Evidence of additional training/experience specific to children and young people
– Experience in providing psychotherapy services to children
– Proficiency in safeguarding assessments, case management and clinical notes
– Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and interventions, such as humanistic, CBT, play therapy, and trauma-informed based approaches
– Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
